7 Drugstore Makeup Steals

November 10, 2015

My love for makeup and playing “dress up” turned into a part time hobby a few years back when I ventured into the wedding makeup and special occasion application realm of the world. I absolutely love applying makeup and making women feel fabulous by simply enhancing and playing up their already beautiful outer assets. While my makeup collection has turned from one pink glittery caboodle full of cotton balls and lip gloss into an extremely large rolling trunk with 3 stacked cases full of countless makeup pieces, one thing remains- my love of makeup steals found at local drugstores. Being able to incorporate makeup steals with high end luxury products is key for when doing others makeup as well as my own. Not to mention, I don’t feel buyer’s remorse when trying out new drugstore makeup finds if they are less than adequate and end up in the trash shortly after. Discover these 7 drugstore makeup steals and how you can incorporate them into your everyday regimen!

Revlon Photo Ready Foundation. I have used Revlon Photo Ready Airbrush Effect Makeup on a daily basis for years! I swear by this stuff when wanting to add a flawless look to my everyday face. Revlon’s Photo Ready Foundation formula is light weight, and when applied with my favorite e.l.f small stipple brush, creates a flawless, pore less, airbrushed look. Just like my high end “airbrush” products, this foundation delivers the same smooth, soft and porcelain results for less. Coming in a dozen different shades and ringing up for only $12.00, this product is a steal! (I use the Golden Beige color)

Revlon Photo Ready Powder. This is another product I have used for years and when paired with the Photo Ready Foundation, it will leave your face looking and feeling like a doll! This powder is light weight enough to use on a daily basis and leaves your skin feeling soft and silk. Revlon Photo Ready Powder not only eliminates shine but perfects your skin with a flawless and airbrushed effect in any light. This powder comes in 3 shades that match any skin tone, and rings up for a whopping $12.00. What could be better? (I use the Light/Medium color)

Rimmel London Scandaleyes Mascara. This is my mascara of choice, personally and for many of my makeup clients. This mascara leaves your lashes so long and full of volume that you would think I had on a pair of falsies! Rimmel London Scandaleyes Mascara boasts a max density (aka- super plump) brush, that captures every lash with each application. This voluminous formula is made with 3x the collagen and 3x the keratin, leaving your lashes full and soft without the extra clump. Ringing up for a total of $7.00, this mascara is a must  have for any makeup bag! (I use the Extreme Black formula)

Cover Girl Perfect Point Plus Eyeliner. Just like my Revlon Photo Ready loyalty, I have used the Cover Girl Perfect Point Plus Eyeliner for years and would recommend it to anyone! This eyeliner pencil gives you the steady control to create the most perfect and precise line, while also allowing for a soft and smoky eye effect when using the versatile smudge end. This self-sharpening twist up pencil comes in a variety of color options and is a steal at only $5.00! (I use the color Black Onyx)

Physicians Formula Bronze Booster: Glow-Boosting Pressed Bronzer. Bronzer is a tricky thing. If you do not get just the right shade for your skin, or just the right type, then you are headed for a road of orange faces and harsh makeup lines. I have personally tried numerous bronzers trying to find my perfect match. While investing in a high quality bronzer is something I would highly recommend, the Physicians Formula Bronzer is a great steal for everyday use. This bronzer easily blends and builds in order to reach your desired level of bronze. Used with my favorite e.l.f. Kabuki face brush, it applies smoothly and transforms your skin with a sun kissed glow. Physicians Formula products are designed for sensitive skin and recommended by allergists and dermatologists alike. Ringing up for only $16.00, this bronzer is a must for creating a healthy everyday glow.

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream. This lip cream is an absolute dream! NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream is not a lipstick or a lip gloss, but yet a silky lip cream that glides on smooth and sets to a matte finish. Unlike a lot of matte lipsticks, this cream does not leave your lips looking and feeling cracked or dry. Instead, it leaves them soft and moisturized! Matte Lip colors are completely en vogue and look great for any event or night on the town. Coming in a dozen shades, and ringing up for a total of $6.00, NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream is a product not to be missed. For more fashion forward lip colors and countless other lipstick options, check out the entire line of NYX products. They are sure to not disappoint, or break the bank! (I have several of these matte lip colors but my favorite for Fall/Winter is the color Copenhagen)

Ardell False Lashes. False eyelashes are such a great edition when wanting to play up your eyes and add an ultra-glam touch to any special occasion look. While there are countless lash brands and styles, I love Ardell False Lashes for several reasons. This brand comes in dozens of colors, lengths and styles, making it easy and fun to choose the right fit for your eyes, face and desired look. These ready to wear lashes are easy to apply, stay on and secure, and due to their tapered ends they create a more natural look. Unless you are rocking out in a Halloween costume, your lashes should never look obviously fake. With Ardell False Lashes, you can achieve a natural eye enhancement in a synch. Ringing in at less than $5.00 a pair, this must have accessory is a steal when wanting to give your eyes and makeup a real wow factor! (I have used many styles of Adrell Lashes but my go to is the 120 Demi Black Lashes)
